“Independents Day” at Great Raft
Saturday, JULY 2 at 12PM
It’s the 3rd annual “Independents Day” celebration at Great Raft. We’ll be celebrating local “independents” on this Independence Day weekend – with independent music, food and beer, all from right here in Shreveport. We’ll even have a pop-up record store from Day Old Blues Records, featuring many independent music artists, including some who call Shreveport home. This year we’re pleased to add a Pelican Parish Supply Co. pop-up as well.

What is NEST FEST
The 7th annual Nest Fest fundraiser will benefit Renesting Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt, public charity. This organization provides gently used furniture and household items to clients of registered social service agencies as they transition from homelessness, AT NO COST TO THEM. Over 1,400 men, women, and children have been served since January of 2010. Some of the agencies that have been helped include the Fuller Center, Volunteers of America Homeless Veterans Program, Bossier and Caddo Parish Schools, Hope for the Homeless, Easter Seals, Overton Brooks Medical Center Homeless Veterans Program and many others in our communities.
Each year hundreds of people come to dine, dance, donate and support Renesting in their mission to help families and individuals transition from homelessness into hopefulness! Attendees from all walks of life and age groups come together for this casual evening of fun. The silent auction is extremely popular! Items range from gift certificates to your favorite eatery, beautiful jewelry, furniture to vacation timeshares and everything in between. This casual evening promises to be a good time for a great cause…helping others conquer homelessness!
